Meet our Solar Shield — a physical sun protection crafted with only the best ingredients. Infused with soothing, calming, and nourishing herbs, paired with farm-direct whole-plant infused tallow and non-nano zinc oxide.
If you’ve been around for a while, you know we usually create a chocolate-covered fruit-inspired tinted Solar Shield with a little extra yum. This year, we chose to feature an incredible vanilla ethically and sustainably sourced directly from a farmer in Madagascar who needed support to attend a farming conference. That direct support helped connect him with fair-trade opportunities to better provide for and care for his family.
Firm enough to stay solid in warm weather, yet soft enough for easy application.
Ingredients: 100% Grass-Fed Tallow, Cold-Pressed California Olive Oil, Non-Nano Uncoated Zinc Oxide, Calendula Flowers, Chamomile Flowers, Yarrow Flowers, Plantain Leaves, Vanilla Bean, & Cocoa Powder
Not lab-tested for SPF. Protection depends on application amount and frequency of reapplication. Formulated to provide approximately SPF 35 equivalent protection, though this has not been verified through laboratory testing.
A herbally infused, soothing skin balm with non-nano zinc oxide for sun-loving skin. Apply generously to dry skin before sun exposure. Allow a few minutes to absorb before going into the sun. Reapply every 1–2 hours while outdoors, and after swimming, sweating, or toweling off. Not recommended for children under 1 year old.

Beyond organic ingredients that are both cultivated and wild crafted. What we don’t grow and forage ourselves, we farm-direct source to our farm friends! We never purchase bulk blindly online and have visited most of the farmers we support. 85% of our ingredients are bioregional, and the rest are thoughtfully purchased, sustainable, and fair trade.
